Enrollment Procedure

Prior to enrollment, parents make an appointment to visit the school along with their child. The visit includes a tour of the school’s indoor and outdoor environments, as well as time to observe a classroom in session. A teacher or administrator also observes the child’s response to the classroom and interactions with other children and adults. Parents have an interview with the administrator, including an opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the program and policies.

The following forms must be completed at the time of enrollment:

  1. Application for Admission
  2. General Release Form

The $100 registration fee is due when the application is submitted. Montessori Central School’s programs are year-round, with tuition paid monthly. Children may be enrolled at any time during the school year.

Note: Application fee is non-refundable.

Admission Requirements

The child should be between 1½ – 3 years of age (Toddler) and 3 – 4 years of age (Primary), or have previous Montessori experience. The Montessori Central School strongly endorses a three-year program to provide maximum advantage of the Montessori method, including the “kindergarten” year. A two-year program is the minimum recommended enrollment, unless of course the child has had previous Montessori experience.

In the Primary Program Children should be toilet trained and weaned. Manageable behavior and obedience are expected. The child should be able to follow simple directions such as “Put the puzzle on the shelf and come sit down.”

If no spaces are available in the school, the child may be placed on a waiting list after the family submits a completed enrollment form, has an interview with the administrator, and pays the $100 registration fee. Note: Application fee is non-refundable. No guarantees are made for desired placement, which is dependent upon space available. Children may be enrolled at any time during the school year.
